You start to know it; in France live show are rare.
I did one last year with the AMEC and decided to goes again this year.
Location was a bit nostalgic, really close to the pyrenean mountains (far from the alps), were I used to live years ago. None of my closer hobby friends were coming, but I booked with the idea of going back for some tourism as well.
Like last year, I took a table to show some of my model horses and my drawings. Bonus this year with the 2025 calendar, that I printed early this year specialy to have it at the event ;)
As we were close to halloween, we were encouraged to be in the mood đ„
This time the show was on 2 days, so it was longer and I got a full day without judging... wich allowed me to chat with everyone and took all the stands in pictures! (I'll do another blog post with all of them).
The first day was about taking place, getting to know each other and competition on all classes that aren't breed or colours.
So tack...
Fantasy...
Performance...
And dioramas...
I only showed my carriage that day and it was alone and won the category so. It also won the tack champion title.
The second day was more busy for me, as I was both competing and judging.
We were 3 to judge, wich is more fair when you have to judge your own horses...
Me, Camille who's not a modelhorse collector but a farrier in real life and
malikamodelhorse.
Competition was small but very competitive, we weren't that many "big" models collectors in the room, but we all had "solid arguments" as models.
The Colour Class:
Diamond Heart & Spotify - Leopard.
Familiar Fox's Grape, Hermine & Daylight - Near & Few Spot (how about winning against myself đ)
Applause Me - Blanket & Snowcape.
Judging the solid horsies.
Choosing the champion wasn't easier because they were less horses, believe me...
The Breed Class:
Morgane Lwyd - Mustang breed.
Nora Creina - Other saddle horses & mix breed.
Judging (and yes, we let people out of the judging listen to us, as it's interresting for everyone to learn about horses).
Merlin Sky Blue; 1rst in stock foal.
Valentine Kiss; 1rst in warmblood foal.
Choosing the champion wasn't an easy this time again, but that's a horse of mine who did this time...
Also don't get me wrong, we did the exact same for all the minis... it was truly a busy day!
At the end of the day, I snatched a few pictures of my stand with all their winning, and it was already over...
Spotify; 2nd in leopard, 1rst in european warmblood.
Champion of the warmblood class.
Nora Creina; 1rst in other appaloosa, 1rst in other saddle horse.
Champion of the appaloosa class, Champion of the saddle horse class.
Morgane Lwyd; 1rst in varnish, 1rst in mustang.
Champion of the stock horse class. Overall Champion of the breed class.
Diamond Heart; 1rst in leopard, 1rst in USA draft.
Champion of the draft class.
Daylight; 1rst in few spot/near leopard, 1rst in appaloosa.
Familiar Fox's Grapes; 2nd in few spot/near leopard, 1rst in EU draft.
Hermine; 3rd in few spot/near leopard, 2nd in other draft.
Applause Me; 1rst in blanket/snowcape, 1rst in other spanish.
Champion of the spanish class.
I really appreciated this small event, everyone was friendly and great to talk with. Everyone was happy at their placings, no drama. It was just perfect.
